Dixie's story
Hello my name is Dixie. I was at a kill shelter with my daughter Nova when my rescue came and rescued us. We were owner surrenders due to no fault of our own at an over crowded shelter and we were going to be euthanized that day. I am 3 years old and weigh 50 pds. My rescue has me and my daughter Nova in boarding at their vets office until we can either find a foster home or an adopter. We have been given our shots and we both are heart worm negative and started on preventatives. I am microchipped already but Nova isn't but will be. We would love to have a home to call our very own. As soon as we either get a foster or adopter we will be able to be spayed and then go to our new homes. My rescue will even consider a foster to adopt home as well just to get us out of boarding. We are bonded of course but we know it is very unlikely someone will want both of us so we can be separated. We both are kid and dog friendly but just confused as to why our people left us. We walk well on a leash but we have been inside and outside per the previous owner so my rescue isn't sure if we are house broken or not. We do well in a kennel so we should be find in a crate if we need to be crated. Our rescue said as soon as someone is found for us we will get a spa day before we go for our surgeries so we are excited about that! We want nothing more than love and attention and someone who will never leave us at a scary shelter ever again. If you can help me or Nova please contact my rescue immediately.
